In 2007, a survey was done by American Pet Products Association found out that US is the country with most cats. The statistic showed there were 88.3 million felines in US, almost 15 million more cats than dogs. This also contributed to one in every three households in US has a cat. China was rated as the second country with most cats, with the statistic around 55 million felines. In UK, one out of every four households has a family cat. Surprisingly, 92% of all the cats in the world are mixed breed. This is a good sign that tells most cat lovers are not particular about cat breed.
There are so many reasons why people have cats as pet:
1. For love and companionship.
2. Cats is naturally the medication to reduce stress in life.
3. Living in work demanding world, people has less time to have social interaction. Hence cats play an important role in filling the gap. Having cats at home is rewarding and therapeutic.
4. Cats are less demanding compare to dogs. Cats are clean, fastidious and relatively quiet animal.
5. Cats do not demand lots of space. It's suitable to stay even in just a small apartment.
6. Cats are fun and is an animal with very unique personality.
Of cause, there are still many reasons why people have cats as pet. To me, cats are such an adorable, mysterious and passionate animal. I love cats since I was little. Just love them!
